Book Fairs

Parkplace Books offers a full book fair program. To guarantee a successful fair, we will work with librarians or a PTSA to customize selections for each student body and curriculum, and ensure that the books you are selling are of the same high caliber of children’s fiction and nonfiction that you see in the store. We will furnish the books you need several days before your fair, and include an inventory list by title. At the end of the fair, you return any unsold books to us; we will only bill you for those sold. In addition your school will be credited 15% of the retail sales amount (before sales tax) toward future book purchases from our store. We also arrange in-store book fairs, and on those occasions invite local authors for kids and families to meet. This is an especially successful event close to the holidays. Again the 15% credit of sales will accrue to the school.

Author School Visits

We can assist in reaching and/or recommending authors for your school and provide the books for those visits.

In-Store Events

We periodically have visiting authors in the store, and encourage schools to bring their students here to visit with them. We usually schedule two classes at a time for one hour each starting at 9:30-11:30 am. These events are free of charge, and we will provide an advance purchase order form for the author’s books as we find that many kids are excited to go home with a signed copy of an author’s book.

New Titles Program

We e-mail interested teachers and librarians a monthly list of new titles in children’s books that we feel are of interest to schools. Please e-mail us if you wish to be included in this program.

Display of Students’ Work

During the school year we are happy to display works by your young authors in the store, and to host a reading of their work at a book party.
