Our History
Mission Statement

We bring to the community books that represent the ideas that will effect change, maintain diversity,
and encourage progress for our society.

We are ardent supporters of the First Amendment and we support all causes that promote literacy
for our youth.
We stand ready, too, in support of social and environmental causes that matter most to the community at large.

ParkPlace Books opened in 1986 and was in business for 16 years under the prior ownership of Ted and Kathi Lucia, eventually becoming one of the the last surviving independent bookstore on the Eastside.  In February of 2002, long time employees Mary Harris and Rebecca Willow purchased the store.
